Hobart's heavy-duty semi-automatic "Smart" slicer has been engineered with special features to help save you time and energy during your busiest meal periods. The variable six-speed automatic carriage has front mounted controls for easy carriage speed selection - either 28, 33, 38, 42, 47, or 52 strokes per minute. In addition, the carriage can be disengaged from the power drive whether slicer is in operation or not for manual slicing control. For convenience after slicing, a quick turn of the index knob to the closed position turns off the slicer, reducing labor and energy use, while affording extra protection for your knife edge. The carriage system interlock protects employees from injury because it will not allow the carriage to tilt or be removed if the gauge plate indicator is not closed, which would expose the knife edge. In fact, to maximize yield, the carriage must in "home position" before the slicer will start, ensuring full loaf slices. No volt release protection means the slicer must be restarted manually after power failure or being unplugged, preventing serious injury.

Features Microban® antimicrobial product protection, built into the external plastic components, to inhibit the growth of bacteria, mold, mildew, and fungi, continuously maintaining a lower level of odor and stain causing microorganisms, and keeping the slicer "cleaner between cleanings." Exclusive tilting, removable carriage system reduces labor, allowing easy midday cleaning and increased sanitation. The thin edge of the super alloy CleanCut^TM knife improves yield and reduces the cost of ownership. Single action top mounted Borazon stone sharpener is easy to use, sharpening and honing in 5 seconds. One piece anozidized aluminum base improves sanitation, because no crevices or bolt holes are available to harbor bacteria. Easy to use double-action indexing cam increases reliability and yield, because the first full revolution of the indexing knob provides precise control for shaving, chipping and thin slicing, while the second revolution opens the gauge plate quickly for thicker, consistent slicing. Permanently mounted ring guard protects knife during operation and cleaning. A cleaning leg props machine for easy cleaning underneath the slicer. Heavy 12 gauge stainless steel top cover with integrated product deflector is durable and easy to use. Easily removable rear deflector allows access for thorough cleaning and sanitation. Corrosion and impact-resistant stainless steel carriage and knife cover provides maximum sanitation with minimum cleanup time. 1/2 hp knife motor runs at 400 RPM for optimal performance. Carriage has a 12-1/2" manual travel and will accept food up to 12" in width or 7-1/2" in diameter. Gauge plate is adjustable to cut any thickness of slice up to 12" in width.
